Assuming you visited campus before transferring, tell me about your visit experience.
During the fall of my freshmen year of college, I visited many schools when I decided to transfer from Berry College. All of them had great campuses, but there was just something about the way that UE felt. I instantly knew it was the right place for me because it felt like home from the start.
How did UE support you in your transfer?
Cherie Leonhardt from the UE Admissions team was phenomenal and a huge reason that I chose to transfer to UE. During my first visit to campus, she was so helpful to me and my family happily answering all our questions and making the transfer to UE a seamless process for me.
What activities or organizations have you been involved with at UE? How have these impacted your college experience?
I am a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon (SigEp), Student Government Association (SGA), and Student Activities Board (SAB). I am also President of the Logistics and Supply Chain Management (LSCM) Club. These organizations have not only given me great friends and connections but endless opportunities.
How has UE been affordable?
UE offers awesome scholarships to their students to make your dream education possible. Everyone I know who is a UE student has really good scholarships.
How has your major’s program shaped and prepared you for your future?
The program is structured to give you not only a thorough understanding of your major, but also a well-rounded perspective of your future coworkers in the business world. By taking classes in the Schroeder Family School of Business that are not logistics and supply chain courses, such as finance or accounting, I will understand what my coworker’s roles are at my future place of work. The Schroeder Family School of Business prepares UE students to become business leaders within their future companies.
Why did you choose UE?
I chose UE because of the small and supportive campus community. From my first visit I could tell how social that the campus was and feel the sense of belonging and community. I also had the opportunity to meet with professors from my major. When talking with them, they emphasized the importance of creating students who are well-rounded and supported by the faculty of the university.
What do you love about being an Ace?
Opportunities are everywhere. Doors are flown open for you. If you are interested in specific research or a project, you don’t get to just be involved, you get the opportunity to lead. I have friends who attend large universities that would never have opportunities like these that allow me to build a strong resume while in college.
What are your goals after graduation?
To be a leader who can inspire those around them to use their own unique creativity to change the world.
What advice do you have for students considering transferring to UE?
Come visit campus and take the opportunity to ask all your questions. Meet with as many professors in your major as possible and connect with current students involved in clubs or activities that interest you. Building these connections during your visit will help you determine if this is the right place for you.
